A New Spin On Diet Vs. Regular

Comments

Dude -- I think it's a long time since you (or I) have let our hair down... ;) Of COURSE all those things are related -- and folks should be able to move back and forth in a discussion.
I chuckled to myself when I wrote that line about letting your hair down. I was just telling someone the other day about going into a Marine recruiter's office in '91 when I had super long hair....THAT was one situation where having let my hair down was a bad idea.

My conversations with people who are comfortable moving between all those subjects typically move back and forth between slapstick humor and seriousness.....my favorite kind of conversation....
My co-workers definitely get the diet version of me; even so I was just blasted for being an opinionated know-it-all (a difference of medical protocol, I read 5 studies and called the equipment's manufacturer). It's so damned hard to be brilliant. I always feel like I'm dumbing myself down, except with my kids who think tangents are what you do in a conversation...
I love the "regular" version, honey! No need for "diet" with me! :)
Don't edit for me! I think people in general have moved to a shortened, more concise version of anything, which leaves out substance. I think email, im's, and twitter only enhance these, but there's something to be said for a CONVERSATION, which I find fewer than I'd like
