Racism is racism is racism

You know, it's bugged all along that ever since David Soutor announced his retirement, everyone assumed that Obama would "have to" nominate either a woman or a Hispanic. WHY???? I get so tired of people thinking that everything has to be based on either skin color or whether or not someone has (excuse me for being crude) a penis.

You're not going to banish me from your 'hood for using that word, are you? LOL

But yeah, I've long believed that those who cry "racism" or "sexism" or even "elitism" WANT to keep inequality because then they remain the victims and get special treatment. If they really wanted equality, then these ridiculous assumptions of "mistreatment" would long since have been done away with instead of constantly perpetuated in the media and in the courts.

As usual, well said.

well said my friend!

Excellent post!

I've always thought that GIVING someone a job because of race, creed, gender, etc is only a hair above preventing them for being considered for one. Again it comes down to the level-playing-field that we must constantly strive for.

A quick search of Senate records shows that there were many (though not complete) Democratic votes against the confirmation of Alberto Gonzales as AG. Including one Nay from Sen Obama (D-Ill). I wonder if MSNBC will bring that up?
